Dear Irritated,
Thank you for your suggestion. After considering your proposal, we feel that to retain the most open forum, we need to have the fewest restrictions.
We would like very much to hear from you again. Indeed, there are certain people who are involved in discussions, and we have no control, nor would we want any, over the frequency of their posts. You are free to read or not read their particular thread, or even better yet, start your own. We would welcome it.
The fact is that a couple of our recent threads have not related well to the core wave, been dominated by two individuals and, in my opinion, have distracted from our goal of creating a pattern of connections among the many moves. This may have created an impression of a closed clique, but I can assure you that everyone’s contribution, including yours, is very welcome. In fact, the Game would be that much the better with more high quality submissions.
Also note that Andy’s response to your comment has been removed from the board. In it, he used language that is, in discussion board terms, called “flaming.” That is, language that either contains personal attacks or namecalling, or is likely to incite personal attacks or namecalling.
Sincerely,
Erik J. Lundquist
