legitimacy of traditional vs. evolved spiritual practice Posted by princepawn on June 16, 1999 at 18:07:48:
As a practitioner of various schools of Buddhism, I could not help but notice how the
earlier schools considered themselves as "original" or "authentic" whilst later schools
saw these same earlier schools as "outdated" or "un-evolved."
Clearly, in some cases newer things are more effective (take computers for instance). But
clearly, in other cases the original things are better (take farming methods perhaps).
So, could anyone offer any insight into what they feel is real, legitimate spritual
practice? What criteria validate such a practice?
